About Us
About one hundred years ago, give or take, my great-grandfather came to the U.S. from Athens, Greece. He settled down in Detroit, started a family, and opened a cafeteria right across the way from the original Ford Factory. He didn’t speak much English, so he called his shop “Mother’s Boxed Lunch,” and with the aid of some hungry factory workers and a fleet of Model-T delivery vehicles, he built a booming business. Eventually the Great Depression happened, the shop closed, and the family moved back to Greece. Fast forward, we eventually made it back and here we are today, continuing the tradition with some Greek favorites and a few updates. We hope everyone enjoys our food as much as we enjoy serving it.
